5 Hotels we’re heading to… as soon as we can.

Instagram is my new best friend and the other day I managed to get in a hole of boutique country hotels and now I can’t wait to be able to visit them. Here are just five of the gems that I found.

First up we’re heading to the West Country to the beautiful Newt hotel. I’m partial to an occasional cider and discovered Newt Cider last year in the summer lockdown. Now I find out they have a beautiful hotel, amazing restaurant (with cider pairings) and… AND… they make their own buffalo mozzarella. Pretty sure I’ve found heaven. We’ve basically already penciled in this trip (not booked…covid) we’ll also be stopping in Bristol for some fun and food – because why not.

Then how about a trip to the seaside? When is that ever a bad thing. So refreshing. We’d stay here, at Gara Rock Hotel. Just look at those views, cozy beds and delicious fresh food! This one is in South Devon just East of Salcombe. I just want to be sat by the pool, listening to the sea, is that too much to ask??

The next one, I can’t quite decide which hotel, but I know it’s in the Cotswolds and it’s going to be either Dormy House Hotel, The Fish Hotel or Foxhill Manor. These are all sister hotels and honestly I’d stay a night in each. Dormy House is beautiful to look at and Foxhill is grand and their instagram puppy filled… But the Fish has personal outdoor hot tubs and baths so I think that wins my glamper heart. Do check them all out though!

The Limewood based in the New Forest is a little closer to home… and somewhere we’ve dined at before. We’re yet to stay here though and would love to experience the spa! The country house is set in the beautiful New Forest surroundings with beautifully grand interiors, a cookery school, a greenhouse, a wine cellar, a spa, a Harnett Holder & Co restaurant, beautiful rooms and the best service. Even if you don’t stay here, head over and check out the restaurant and just hang out – you won’t be disappointed.

Finally, back to the Cotswolds for this one, The Painswick hotel a 16 bedroom Palladian hotel. This is the perfect country retreat with beautiful views, country glamour and delicious food. They also have a great green initiative… your used morning papers go to the local alpaca farm for bedding. Say no more.

Hopefully you’re feeling inspired for your post lockdown staycation dreams! Thanks for reading, BV.
